. . . Next Generation Technology Today The Ecotechnics Coolshade Reflector. The Coolshade is an air-tight, fully sealed clear glass tube based reflector with a lamp mounting bracket in its centre. It's perfect for removing the excess heat generated by HID grow lights without leaking unpleasant odours. Always use your Coolshade Reflector with an air extraction system and ducting to transport the heat from your lighting out of your growing environment. As far as are aware our Coolshade Reflectors are the only fully sealed lighting system on the market. (other manufacturers may claim theirs are also fully sealed but in our experience they are more often not). We offer a wide range of Coolsahde Reflectors with different diameters and lengths of the reflector, also options for single and double lamp sockets plus we have both a Coolshade with large external reflector (600mm Coolshade) and also an un-wired option (1000mm Coolshade double lamp holder). Please note that ALL Coolshade reflectors MUST always be used with a suitable air extraction system. note: Lamps not included Compatible HID Lamps: 250w 400w 600w How Coolshade Reflectors work: Air is pulled (but can also be pushed) over the lamp by adding an extractor fan to one side of the tube, the hot vented air is then expelled away from the grow room and your plants. Coolshade reflectors very effective, somewhere in the region of 70-80% of heat is removed, and are therefore very popular with indoor gardeners who have limited space to work with. There are two diameters of glass tube available, 120mm and 150mm. The 120mm diameter is suitable for use with the 250W and 400W versions, the 150mm diameter is suitable for use up to 600W The Ecotechnics Coolshade has been specifically designed to address the problems associated with temperature build up and thermal hotspots in indoor grow rooms. It is not uncommon to find lighting systems of 5Kw or more in grow rooms as growers have become more aware of the relationship between light intensity, crop cycle time and yield. Coolshade reflectors are designed to remove the heat by actively ducting the heat away before it is allowed to enter the growing area allowing you to put the reflector closer to the plants. Simply connect the Coolshade to your extractor fan via ducting.
