The Ecotechnics Eco-Light Reflector. Compact Fluorescent Lighting (CFL) is a relatively new technology for use in grow lighting, brands such as Eco-Light have succeeded in bringing CFL lamps into the mainstream grow lighting market place. CFL Lamp Types Blue CFL lamps work well for propagation and vegative growth. Red CFL lamps offer a low heat alternative to HPS lamps but do not quite measure up in terms of yield. Purple CFL lamps are idea for cuttings and cloning. Dual spectrum CFL Lamps (a mix of red+blue tubes in one lamp) Great for use in areas where heat build up is a problem as they generate very little heat. CFL lamps give off very little heat, meaning you can place them close to your plants for maximum output. As the lamps are self-ballasted, you simply screw the CFL into your E40 reflector or hanger, giving you great convenience and flexibility - as well as substantial running cost savings.
